Ben Pogue, a member of the Charleston Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society, has written a historical novel that will appeal to rail fans.  In the Shadow of the Dove  takes place in the early days of railroads in Charleston, South Carolina during the time of the creation of the South Carolina Canal and Rail Road and the Best Friend of Charleston train figures prominently.
